Myths and facts about hypnotherapy.

Myth: You are asleep during hypnosis.

Fact: You are not asleep during hypnosis and you are in a relaxed State

awake and aware.

Myth: you are not aware of your environment while in hypnosis.

Fact: You are aware of your surroundings, you can hear, talk and return to your

waking consciousness at any time.

Myth: The hypnotist can make you do things you do not want to do.

Fact: You are in control of your actions, and no one can make you do anything

you do not want to do.

We are using hypnosis as a treatment tool, not for entertainment purposes.

Stage hypnosis is done to entertain people while clinical

hypnosis is done to help a client overcome a particular issue.

These styles of hypnosis are different in degree and purpose,  you can always reject any

suggestion.

Myth: you can get stuck in a hypnotic state.

Fact: The hypnotic state is natural and it happens to you on a daily basis.

For example, when you are driving,

watching television, or daydreaming.

Myth: The hypnotist hypnotizes you.

Fact: You are hypnotizing yourself, the therapist is there

to guide you through the process.

Myth: you lose control under hypnosis .

Fact: You are always in control.

Myth: You have never been hypnotized. 

Fact: The hypnotic state is a natural state of mind that you experience daily.

 The guided hypnosis process involves your awareness and consciousness being focused in a new way.
